A New Plan

I’ve finally figured out what to do with all my domains and so here is my outlined plan:

Rogue Robots will be the gallery of my work, photographs, creations, designs and whateverthigns I make. Beside just pointing to Flickr, other random things like Adium plugins or toy creations, I hope to fill it with other spirited endeavors. But I intend on using this particular site as more of a gallery than any extensive writing.

johnnywon.com will be my new home for continual blogging about technology, business, social-media and other things I enjoy. My old tumble blog is more of a personal-log of things I enjoy and experience to primarily share with friends.

I think johnnywon.info will continue to be a nice succinct biography.

Although three separate sites sound outlandish, I think this should be easier to organize and prioritize my tasks. I’m sure all three sites will intertwine extensively but if you choose one, follow johnnywon.com

For more good times, I’m on Twitter more extensively by the day @johnnywon and can be reached at johnny@roguerobots.com

I went to the Futures of Entertainment and survived.

This past weekend, I was at MIT for the Futures of Entertainment 3 conference being a happy sponge. The program consisted of a wide variety of industry and academic speakers addressing the challenges of transmedia and creating functional new-media experiences. Overall, I had a great time and I met a lot of individuals similarly struggling to align their firms, business teams and marketing agendas with functional plans.

Over and over, the speakers touched on the difficulty of creating a non-linear process and addressing situations on a case-by-case basis. It was enlightening because most of my recent experience has been railing against the linear process since it has consistently failed my firm. While the conference was light on practical solutions, it seemed obvious that leadership in new-media was sorely lacking. Aside from agencies and a few firms, everyone had a nice story of client horror and ineptitude.

Kudos again to the C3 people who brought everything together. I sound like a gushy cheerleader about FOE (I volunteered some graphic work for the conference) but I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the conference. The full bleed 11×17 poster came out extremely well and it just ended up being icing for the weekend.

You can check out the liveblog from the conference and the Twtiter feed #FOE3 (I was Tweeting like @the_Real_Shaq from the bench).

About Rogue Robots

Rogue Robots is the gallery of things made by Johnny Won. It is under transition (Dec 2008) and lacks the content but it is coming soon. Where else would all the photographs, sites, graphics and other wonderful things go?

A bio about Johnny can be found at johnnywon.info and to get in touch, please email johnny@roguerobots.com
